Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains what information I collect, why, and what your rights are. I'm Lara Hinson, trading as [business name], and I'm responsible for your information (the "data controller"). Contact me at laralarahinson@gmail.com.
What I collect

Your contact details: name, email address, and phone number if you give it.

Booking and payment details: what you booked, when, and what you paid. Payments are handled by Wix and PayPal, and I never see your full card details.

What you share with me: the focus of your session, anything you tell me during a reading, healing session or the programme, and messages between sessions. This can include personal details about your health, relationships or beliefs, so I treat it with extra care.

Notes: the written notes I send you after your reading, session notes for programme clients [which may be drafted with Zoom's AI summary].

Email activity: whether you open and click my emails, so I only send what's useful.

Website use: basic information about how people use my website (see Cookies below).
Why I use it:

To book, run and follow up your sessions, courses or programme, because that's our agreement.

To look after the personal details you share in sessions, with your explicit consent, given when you book.

To send newsletters, offers and free resources, with your consent, given when you sign up.

To keep accounts and tax records, because the law requires it.

To keep my website and services working well, which is in my legitimate interests.
Who I share it with I never sell your information. I only share it with the services that help me run my business: Wix (my website, bookings, payments, emails and member area), Zoom (online sessions) and PayPal (payments). Some of these companies store data outside the UK, for example in the US. When they do, they use legal safeguards approved in the UK to protect it.
How long I keep it

Booking and payment records: 6 years, because the law requires it for tax.

Session notes: 2 years after your last session or programme, then deleted.

Email list: until you unsubscribe.
Emails
I'll only send you newsletters and offers if you've said yes. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just ask me. Emails about a booking or purchase, like confirmations and reminders, are part of the service, so you'll still get those.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that help websites work. My website is built on Wix, which uses:

Essential cookies, which make booking, payments and logging in work. These are always on.

Statistics cookies, which count visits and show which pages are useful.

Marketing cookies, which show whether my social media posts lead to bookings. These are only used if you say yes.
You can choose which cookies you're happy with in the cookie banner, and change your mind any time using the privacy icon on the page.
Your rights You can ask me to see the information I hold about you, correct it, delete it (unless I have to keep it by law), stop or limit how I use it, or send it to you or someone else in a usable format. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Just email me, and I'll respond within one month.
